2 billion people, including 500 million women and girls suffer from anemia, globally.
The Symtoms of anemia are worse during the menstrual phase but many women only find out they have anemia after fainting. Many women are unaware of the four phases of their menstrual cycle and do not track their cycles effectively, leading to unexpected menstruation and potential school absences. Compounding this issue are significant language barriers in regions like Africa, which limit access to menstrual health education. To address these challenges, NuFlo is developing a Multilingual Period App that will provide:
The Luteal Phase, often likened to autumn, is a critical part of the menstrual cycle that follows ovulation.
Just as winter brings a time for rest and reflection, the menstrual phase encourages introspection and self-care.
Just as spring brings renewal and growth, the follicular phase symbolizes a fresh start in your menstrual cycle.
The ovulatory phase can be likened to summer, where energy is high and moods are generally more positive.
NuFlo was born from a personal journey to restore balance and health. In 2022, our founder was diagnosed with severe anemia, leaving her exhausted and unable to perform at her best. Her body lacked essential nutrients, leading to relentless fatigue, heart palpitations, and dependence on over five cups of coffee a day just to stay awake. This experience changed her life and inspired NuFlo’s mission to support wellness from the inside out.
Pearly Joubert, CEO & Founder
In 2024, NuFlo's co-founder discovered the power of cycle syncing, a practice that involves adjusting nutrition to support each phase of the menstrual cycle. By eating to support her gut health and balance her hormones, she found relief from the symptoms that once held her back.
